erozpora Nallah is nestled in the backdrop of mount Affarwat and beautiful green forests of Gulmarg, Drung and the village Ferozpora. It is also known as Shinmahinyu.It is a mountain stream that originates from the Ferozpora peak. It lies at a distance of 5km from Gulmarg. The stream also acts as water source for rural dwellers and may believe that it has been blessed by the spirits of mountains. It flows down to join the Balan River at Waters Meet, which is an another popular tourist attraction. Ferozpora Nallah lies close to Tosaimaidan which can be reached through a Trek of 50 km that takes 3 days to complete. The river is named after the adjoining third largest revenue village of the district Baramulla known as Ferozpora. Nallah Ferozpora has its origin from the regular snow fed glaciers of the mount Affarwat .it is known for its crystal clear waters. The river passes through the famous tourist destination Drung, Where a hydropower project of 10 Megawatts is being run

on it. The Nallah after leaving the Drung is subdivided into the many smaller tributaries. On the demand and because of the need of the people of the Drung and Mahyan a concrete bridge has been built over Nallah near the famous shrine of saint Hazrat Baba Shams-u-din Nayak.The bridge connects the people of the Drung with the village Ferozpora and the Mahyan. The Nallah is in its full volume and momentum in the springs and the summers. The Nallah is famous for the trout fishing across the Jammu and Kashmir, luring the anglers and fish catchers from many corners of the UT. The Nallah because of its pure waters and surrounding eye catching landscapes and forestry has been developed as a fascinating destination of adventurous, pilgrimage and leisure tourism. The place is great to spend a sunny afternoon in as it is surrounded by beautiful snowcapped mountains and a forest of pine trees.
